Rappers sort their waste. Do you?
“It was wicked!” proclaimed the kids. Something exceptional made its mark not only in the chronicles of Czech hip hop, but also in advertising. Street poet Kato joined forces with samosebou.cz, a magazine advocating proper waste separation. A unique 3D animated video was created, which was unprecedented on the Czech music scene.
By enlisting Kato from the hip hop group Prago Union, we hoped to attract the attention of the youngest group of consumers for whom this topic is otherwise not on their mind. This is why we created a unique 3D world in low-poly style and set it to the song Stínohra from the new album by Prago Union.
All that painstaking work with polygons was worth it. Kato’s animated dance movements and gestures stay absolutely faithful to his own. We captured them live in the studio using sensors and programmed them into the video. At the Óčko music station premier, we revealed a backstage making-of documentary on the microsite and offered a competition and livestream from the album’s debut. We also printed an action figure of Kato for those who answered questions about his life correctly in a quiz.
We’re confident that we not only got rap fans into separating their waste, but also anyone interested in environmental protection. And that’s what matters the most.
