YouTube shorts makes its debut in Czech Republic
Following successful launches in India and the USA, YouTube’s new super-short video format has arrived in Czech Republic.
The new mobile platform allows users to create videos of up to 60 seconds in length, apply filters and text, connect with other video formats, and uses audio snippets from YouTube’s extensive music library.
Havas PR was on hand to look after local communication needs with a campaign that included musical collaborations with artists in the Universal Music stable.
Popular Czech band Mirai released a video teaser for their new song “Yesterday,” using the new format. This was supported by a competition to win Mirai merchandise, run on the Band’s own YouTube channel, where fans were encouraged to create their own short videos for the newly released song.
Czech rapper Dorian also got involved with the introduction of a new merchandising collection for 2022 via the platform.
At the time of the launch in Czech Republic, Shorts videos hit more than 15 billion views a day and growing, worldwide.
