Burgers with Jimmy Hendrix’s guitar
When the legendary brand opened a new restaurant in Prague, it was an unforgettable party for 750 people at which the mayor smashed his electric guitar. This was preceded by months of meticulous preparations and strategic PR communication, thanks to which Hard Rock Café established itself firmly on the Prague scene.
The Havas Events team will probably never forget the moment. It’s D-day, the gala opening, and a long queue of invited guests begins to form in front of the U Rotta building. Everything is ready inside, including the artifacts from musical history that make Hard Rock a special place. Above the tables hang Bono Vox’s jeans, Jimmy Hendrix’s guitar, Maddona’s corset, Eric Clapton’s jacket and a part of Iron Maiden’s drum kit. Artifacts of Czech provenance include Ondřej Hejma’s hat, Vilda Čok’s costumes, Peter Nagy’s guitar and David Koller’s jacket. The staff is ready to serve classic American cuisine in a rock’n’roll atmosphere.
The musicians, actors, models and business are waiting eagerly in front of the entrance when there is an almighty downpour. Yes, some of them were soaked through. But we saved most of them using quickly sourced umbrellas. Long live improvisation. And Jimmy Hendrix, too!
